William K. Burton, President, CFP®, CPFA
Bill is a Certified Financial Planner and a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor. He joined Capital Investors Advisory Corporation in 1988, became its President in 1991, became its sole owner in 2018. Throughout his career he has served as an independent advisor to many families, individuals, trusts and retirement plans.
He has been a member of the Financial Planning Institute since 1983 and is a member of the Financial Services Institute. In 2008, he was named one of America’s top financial planners, based upon experience, training, education and certifications, by Consumer’s Research Council of America. In the same year, he was listed among the top 20 wealth advisors in Central Ohio and was named to Business First’s Winner’s Circle. He has spoken frequently as a guest lecturer, has contributed to Investment Advisor magazine and was featured in Fortune magazine.
Mr. Burton was a long-time board member of the Columbus chapter of Volunteers of America and served as the organization’s Treasurer. A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Dayton Business School, he and his wife of 44 years Linda, have four children, eight grandchildren and attend St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church. In his spare time, you are likely to find Bill playing golf, working out or most likely spending quality time with his grandchildren.
